Michael Rother's "Remember..) SUPER-DUPER!
Dear Aimee Mann fann,
Last week, I purchased three CDs, at Cutler's in New Haven, Connecticut. They were "Arthur" , and "Muswell
Hillbillies" by the Kinks, to replace LPs, and I also bought a third CD that had come in, which I had ordered before-"Remember(The Great
Adventure)" by German guitarist/keyboard/composer Michael Rother(Neu!, early Kraftwerk, Harmonia).
The album cost $45.98! it was an import, so that was the reason. It's not very easy to find anywhere. I hadn't heard it in the year
since it was released.
I am playing this CD right into the ground! It's a fabulous, magical CD, and since he and Aimee are definately among my five favorite
performers of all time, I figure a lot of you guys could really appreciate this CD.
What Aimee and Michael have in common are "perfect" songs. You know when you listen to Aimee's stuff that it could not improved
upon. Well that's exactly how I feel about every note from this CD. I have never heard a CD where I was more certain that it deserved five
stars. Michael's music is considered "ambient", but the beauty of this CD crosses any boundaries. When something is this prefectly
done, you know it's great no matter what genre you're into at the time. As a matter of fact, some of the music reminds me somewhat of
Aimee's. I guarantee Aimee would love this CD. The album is not an album that sings songs, though there are repeated phrases, here and there,
through much of it. It plays music, and I have never heard nicer music to listen to on my headphones as I bike through the Connecticut countryside(And
as I narrowly miss colliding with cars that I don't hear).
Andi Toma of Mouse On Mars, is on this CD, along with Sophie Williams on vocals, Herbert Gronemeyer, Jeffrey Mandell and a couple of other German
guys(sorry).
No, I do NOT represent Michael Rother or his company in any way, and I DO have every single thing by Aimee Mann, and always will, if she dies before
me, of course. It would be tough to purchase her new one, after you're dead.
I simply want my fellow Aimee fans to be aware of something very special. Now the trick would be to actually FIND this CD.
It shows what a bizarre world it is that this CD was released over a year ago, and is still invisible.

Yep, that Michael Rother fever has died down considerably. Perhaps a discussion of "S.W. Graham" cereal would arouse somewhat more
interest.
I loved "S.W. Graham" graham cereal, but it went under about ten years ago. Michael Rother's music I love even more, and
he's still here, though you'd never know it. It might be easier to find an old box of S.W. Grahams, that they neglected to pull off the
shelf, than find this CD. This is a fabulous CD. I do not exaggerate.
By the way, did you know that in the 1890s graham crackers were advertised to "curb the sex drive"! This was advertised as a GOOD
thing!Could they have placed this somewhere on the S.W. Graham box? That would definately explain its demise.
